🌿 Relentless Scavenger & 100% Plant-Safe Maintenance

The Albino Mystery Snail is a peaceful, industrious scavenger that works around the clock to keep your aquarium clean. It systematically glides across the tank to consume uneaten fish flakes, decaying plant matter, and organic biofilms before they can decay and compromise your water parameters.

A foundational benefit of Pomacea bridgesii is that it will absolutely never eat or damage healthy, live aquarium plants. Its specialized mouthparts are strictly limited to scraping soft, dead tissue and debris, making it completely safe for delicate mosses, high-end layouts, and soft carpet flora. They breed in freshwater but lay their eggs in a highly visible, large pinkish clutch above the waterline, making population management incredibly simple and stress-free for your customers.

🛠️ Lighting, Temperature & Maintenance Guide

  • Lighting Requirements: Highly Adaptable. They do not require specific lighting for their health. However, full-spectrum LED fixtures make their iridescent white shells and neon-orange body spots pop with incredible brilliance, especially in high-contrast aquascapes.

  • Temperature Parameters: Prefers a stable tropical range of 20°C – 28°C (68°F – 82°F). Higher temperatures within this range increase their activity and growth rate, but slightly shorten their overall lifespan.

  • Water Chemistry & Shell Thickness: Requires a pH range of 7.0 – 8.0 and medium-to-hard water parameters (gH above 8, kH above 4). Providing hard, alkaline water rich in dissolved minerals is critical to supply the essential calcium required for healthy shell growth, keeping their ivory armor thick, smooth, and free of structural pitting or erosion.

  • Aquarium Escape Caution: Mystery Snails are notorious for climbing out of the water to explore or lay eggs. It is highly recommended to keep a tight-fitting lid on the aquarium and leave a 2-inch gap of air between the water surface and the top frame to prevent any accidental falls.
