🌿 High-Density Growth & Natural Filtration

Green Myrio is a remarkably fast-growing species that excels at building high-volume background walls. When grown fully submersed, its delicate, fluffy fronds sway gracefully with the filter current, creating a dynamic sense of movement in the layout.

Due to its rapid growth rate, Myriophyllum pinnatum acts as a heavy-lifting biological filter. It aggressively absorbs excess dissolved nitrates and phosphates directly from the water column, naturally starving out nuisance algae and keeping your aquarium water crystal clear. Its intricate, maze-like leaf structure serves as an elite, low-stress nursery and foraging sanctuary for fry, shrimp, and timid community fish.

🛠️ Lighting, Temperature & Maintenance Guide

  • Lighting Requirements: Medium to High (Full-Spectrum LED). While it can adapt to moderate lighting, high-intensity full-spectrum LED fixtures ensure the feathery leaf whorls remain tightly packed and compact. Insufficient light causes the lower stem to shed its needles and stretch thin. Maintain a stable photoperiod of 8 to 10 hours daily.

  • Temperature Parameters: Exceptionally resilient and temperature-adaptable, maintaining stable health across a wide range of 18°C – 26°C (64°F – 79°F). It handles cooler water remarkably well, making it highly versatile for various setups.

  • Substrate & Fertilization: Thrives best when anchored in a nutrient-rich aquasoil or supplemented with premium root tabs, though it readily absorbs nutrients through its fine foliage. Regular dosing of liquid micro-nutrients and iron keeps the feathery tips a crisp, vibrant green.

  • Propagation & Trimming: Propagation is effortless—simply snip the top 4 to 5 inches of a healthy stem with sharp aquascaping scissors and press the cutting directly into the substrate. Frequent trimming of the top canopy stimulates aggressive side-branching, turning a few stems into a massive, bushy forest.
