🌿 Collector-Grade Color Depth & Visual Contrast

The 'Skeleton Red' variant is a true high-tech showstopper. Under high-intensity specialized lighting, its growth parameters become exceptionally dense, producing intense fiery-red crowns that look phenomenal as a midground or background focal point.

Beyond its breathtaking aesthetics, this premium Ludwigia acts as an efficient biological nutrient sink when thriving, absorbing dissolved waste compounds directly from the water column. Its intricate, needle-fine leaf structure creates a premium, low-stress sheltering grid and secure foraging sanctuary for delicate dwarf shrimp, newborn fry, and sensitive nano species.

🛠️ Lighting, Temperature & Maintenance Guide

  • Lighting Requirements: High to Intense (Full-Spectrum LED). To trigger its signature deep crimson coloration and sharp, contrasting leaf veins, this plant requires high-intensity full-spectrum aquarium lighting. Low light will cause the plant to drop its lower leaves and fade to a dull greenish-orange. Provide a stable photoperiod of 8 to 10 hours daily.

  • Temperature Parameters: Prefers a stable, pristine tropical environment within the range of 22°C – 26°C (72°F – 79°F). It is sensitive to extreme heat spikes; keeping the water slightly cool and highly oxygenated ensures optimal cellular development.

  • Substrate & Fertilization: Requires a premium, nutrient-rich active aquasoil. This cultivar has a delicate root system and demands heavy root feeding alongside regular liquid water column dosing. Frequent supplementation of liquid iron and micronutrients is vital to keep the red pigments intensely saturated and prevent the specialized skeletal veins from fading.

  • Propagation & Trimming: Propagation is achieved by snipping the top 3-4 inches of a robust, healthy stem using razor-sharp aquascaping scissors and gently pressing the cutting into the substrate. Regular trimming of the top canopy encourages lateral branching, leading to a much thicker, bushier, and more dramatic red display.
