📝 Premium Product Description
Safeguard your aquatic livestock from aggressive internal pathogens with our premium Metro Flake. Specially formulated for ornamental fish, this therapeutic-grade medicated flake food features pharmaceutical-grade Metronidazole, an incredibly effective agent targeting internal protozoan parasites and anaerobic bacterial infections.
🌿 Clinical Benefits for Disease Treatment and Prevention
Internal flagellates and parasites like Hexamita and Spironucleus cause rapid weight loss, lethargy, and stringy white feces—frequently devastating popular species like Discus, Angelfish, Bettas, and African Cichlids (Malawi Bloat).
When fish fall ill, treating the water column can be highly inefficient and risks crashing your aquarium’s beneficial biological filter. Delivering medication directly through a high-protein feed like Metro Flake ensures the therapeutic dose is ingested directly into the digestive tract where parasites live. Crafted with highly palatable marine proteins, even stressed or selective fish will readily accept the flakes, accelerating their recovery timeline.

🛠️ Feeding Protocol & Tank Management Guide
Feeding Administration: Feed exclusively as the primary diet 1 to 2 times daily for a continuous period of 7 to 10 days. Do not under-dose or stop the treatment early to prevent parasites from building up a resistance to the active ingredients.
Lighting Requirements: Low to Medium / Turn off UV Sterilizers. While the medication is bound into the flake, Metronidazole in the water can be sensitive to intense, prolonged UV rays. We recommend turning off UV sterilizers and running your aquarium lights on a standard or slightly dimmed cycle during the treatment period.
Temperature Management: Maintaining a stable temperature at the higher end of your fish’s preferred range (26°C – 29°C / 79°F – 84°F) helps accelerate the metabolic rate of both the fish and the parasites, significantly speeding up the recovery process. Ensure adequate oxygenation via an air stone, as warmer water holds less oxygen.
Post-Treatment Protocol: Once the 10-day treatment cycle is complete, return to your regular premium diet. Perform a 25% to 30% water change and run active carbon in your filter for 48 hours to remove any residual medication sloughed off in the tank.
