🌿 Unique Color Transition & Ecosystem Benefits

What sets the 'Orange Juice' variant apart is its distinct color gradient. Under high-intensity spectrum lighting, the plant exhibits brilliant orange-golden leaves along a reddish stem. Even in moderate lighting, it maintains a pleasing yellowish-pink coloration, making it far more colorful than standard green stem plants.

As a fast-growing aquatic species, it thrives by aggressively absorbing dissolved organic waste, nitrates, and phosphates directly from the water column. This rapid nutrient uptake acts as a highly effective natural defense against nuisance algae blooms. Additionally, its dense, bushy network of delicate leaves creates an excellent, stress-reducing sheltering zone and foraging ground for shrimp, newborn fry, and nano fish.

🛠️ Lighting, Temperature & Maintenance Guide

  • Lighting Requirements: Medium-High to High (Full-Spectrum LED). To trigger and maintain its signature bright orange coloration, high-intensity full-spectrum aquarium lighting is required. Under insufficient light, the plant will revert to a soft yellowish-green. Provide a stable photoperiod of 8 to 10 hours daily.

  • Temperature Parameters: Extremely resilient and adaptable, maintaining peak cellular health within a tropical range of 22°C – 28°C (72°F – 82°F). Avoid sudden environmental shocks to maintain steady growth rates.

  • Substrate & Fertilization: While it can draw nutrients from the water, anchoring it in a premium nutrient-rich aquasoil or supplementing with high-quality root tabs ensures robust stem thickness. Regular liquid iron and micro-nutrient dosing are essential to prevent pale leaves and lock in the deep orange pigmentation.

  • Propagation & Trimming: Propagation is incredibly easy—simply snip the top 3-4 inches of a mature stem using sharp aquascaping scissors and press the cutting directly into the substrate. Frequent trimming of the top canopy forces the lower nodes to shoot out multiple side branches, creating a thicker, more dramatic orange bush.
